- Never share your Saxenda® pen or needles with another person. You may give an infection to them, or get an infection from them
Saxenda® is a once-daily, self-injectable medicine that comes in a prefilled pen. Take your medicine each day at any time that is convenient for you, with or without food. Inject your dose under the skin (this is called subcutaneous injection) in your stomach area (abdomen), upper leg (thigh), or upper arm as instructed by your health care professional. Do not inject into a vein or muscle.
Saxenda® dosing schedule
Your prescription of Saxenda® contains enough medicine for 30 days.
week 1: 0.6 mg per week
week 2: 1.2 mg per week
week 3: 1.8 mg per week
week 4: 2.4mg per week
week 5: 3mg per week
Take medicine once daily at any time. The starting dose is 0.6 mg per day for 1 week. Increase the dose each week until the dose is 3 mg or as prescribed by your health care professional.
